EFFECT OF CARBON BLACK/SILICA HYBRID REINFORCEMENT ON THE PROPERTIES OF SOLID TIRE TREAD COMPOUND CONTAINING GROUND TIRE RUBBER

The incorporation of ground tire rubber (GTR) in compounds results to reduced strength the vulcanizates. need improve properties vulcanizates containing GTR becomes necessary. This work evaluates effect hybrid filler reinforcement on abrasion resistance, hardness, heat build-up, dynamic set and compression solid tread compound 10 phr 20 60 mesh size GTR. used was carbon black/silica (CB/SiO­2) ratio 60/0, 55/5, 50/10 45/15 respectively. mixing followed two step method standard samples for testing were molded through molding technique at 150, under pressure tons force cure time based optimal from rheometric measurement. Results show that volume loss with addition while showed slightly higher than those filled only black. At loading, desired reduction hardness achieved use reinforcement; small loading.
